The Origins of European Integration. An analysis of its economic and political roots
Howson S.
Europe’s history is filled with battles over land rights, cultural differences, and issues of religion. However, in the World Wars of the twentieth century, most European militaristic and political actions were motivated primarily by the ideology of nationalism. Following the devastation and destruction of the Second World War, the need for integration once again became apparent. World War Two is thought to be the catalyst for renewed interest in the process of unifying Europe.
